This week on ” Community ” marked the one-year anniversary of the relationship between Troy and Britta. Only it’s too bad neither of them remembered. It was also the three-year anniversary of Troy and Abed watching “Freaky Friday” together for the first time, and that one they remembered. They also recreated the central conceit of the film. As a coping mechanism for his relationship fears, Troy pretended — or did he? As a good friend, Abed played along — or was he? Jeff was with Troy, acting like Abed, where it finally came out that Troy wasn’t feeling committed to the relationship anymore. He’d realized that he needed to break up with Britta. Abed, acting like Troy, went on an anniversary lunch date with Britta, proving he’s the most committed friend of all time. He started the break-up process for Troy, but Troy stepped up in the last minute to do it himself.
Alison Brie Says ‘Community’ Could Get Gayer
You almost needed a Venn diagram to follow the various relationships happening on Thursday night’s “Community. For example, Annie still has a thing for Jeff. We saw that when she got defensive over the fact that he changed his shirt in front of her by the lockers. Jeff, meanwhile, still has a thing for Britta. When Britta announced that she used to date someone who works at a carnival taking place in Greendale a guy who is actually named Blade, which led to many a reference to a “kickboxing vampire movie” , Jeff went there to figure out what the guy’s deal was.
Britta is only attracted to “bad boys,” so after Annie redirected Britta’s many texts to Blade to another phone, the only time any of this little scheme succeeded was when Troy texted something nice to Britta.
In the beginning, Troy came to Greendale Community College a letterman Shirley’s attempts to protect Little Boy Troy from Britta’s corrupting ‘, S02E01), and pocketed a string of condoms before a date with Randi.
Troy and Abed pull a Freaky Friday switch so Troy can run from what he knows he has to do: break up with Britta. I know, time sure does fly! In honor of their anniversary, Troy and Abed pretend to switch bodies. Eventually, he breaks up with her for Troy. Is there a more humiliating way to get dumped? In the end, Troy and Abed switch back, and Troy does tell Britta to her face that he thinks they are better off as friends. The two seemed sad but like they might be able to stay friends.
Also, Dean Pelton tried to switch bodies with Jeff, which just made him do a lot of push-ups, be mean to everyone and run around with his shirt off. So, he got to live out one of his fantasies — almost. Dani Lyman. View All. Tags alison brie community joel mchale tv reviews.

At this point in pop culture history, most people are aware of Donald Glover ‘s extreme range of talents. Running for six seasons but no movie between and , Community focused on the bizarre and whimsical exploits of a group of students attending a community college. Sadly, during the hiatus between the series’ fourth and fifth seasons in , it was announced that Glover would be leaving Community part of the way through the upcoming season, which premiered in January
On the receiving end of what passes for anger in Abed-world, after she all but forced Troy and Britta on a lunch date, Annie ignores Troy’s.
Jeff Winger is known for being a bit of a ladies man — or at least in his head. We all know that he started the OG study group just to try to get with Britta, but instead, he set up six years of glorious television — more or yes, depending on how you feel about the “gas leak year”. Despite having a number of women interested in him throughout the series, Jeff had a rather strange ending for a handsome leading man on a sitcom. Who did Jeff end up with on Community?
No one. Well, sort of. When Jeff initially started the study group, or rather lied about having a study group, it was to get Britta to spend time with him because, well, he wanted to get in her pants. Instead, he got a real study group that, more or less, lasted through six seasons and a movie? But upon creating the study group, Jeff met Annie. At the time, Jeff was Annie was 18 and she had a bit of a school girl crush on him.
Why Danny Pudi Thinks He and Donald Glover Will ‘Always Be Tight’ – Like Troy and Abed
Community is one of my favorite shows, especially the first three seasons. The humor, the characters, the dialogue, the style parodies, all flow so well from one to another. The final two seasons are different, but still strong, finding introspective meaning in how the characters and the school they attend change throughout the years.
Having just finished rewatching of season four, I want to unpack what I think made it the weakest season of Community.
But before he was a man of many accolades, Glover was the well-meaning jock Troy Barnes on NBC’s Community. Sadly, Glover left the show.
Each season has stayed true to [it being] the first day in another year of college, so we just approached it that way. Some of the things that were maybe set in motion through last season — particularly in the last episode — we wanted to pull through into the season to keep the continuity as much as possible. And then you get to the end toward your senior year — which some of our characters are in this year — and the reality of what comes next can be exciting at times and frightening at times, so that notion of change and everything must come to an end eventually — hopefully not too soon [ Laughs ] — plays into the overall theme this year.
Is that still the plan? How will Jeff finally meeting his estranged father impact him? GUARASCIO This is the year of change and [of] there being some maturity for everyone in the group, so in some ways the relationships get more complicated than they were before. What does it mean possibly for Jeff and Britta?
Can we expect more of the same from the psych major? And are there plans to introduce a romantic interest for the Cougar Town fiend? Abed really is the person who created the world of Community in bringing the study group together in the pilot. That will force him to think about — in very baby steps — maybe going through some changes of his own. And that may be reflected somewhat in a relationship with someone outside the group. ‘Community’: Troy And Abed Switch Bodies For Troy And Britta’s One-Year Anniversary (VIDEO)
Am I supposed to be satisfied that a crummy story at least ended on a nice note? Should I be angry that the story could have been better all along? Should I just shut up and be grateful that modern technology shoots entertainment into my idiot box for a small fee? I just don’t know. Troy and Britta never had much will-they-or-won’t-they, which is what I initially enjoyed about their relationship.
It’s taking Troy and Britta having a relationship one step further; it’s Jeff time to go through everything with Jeff while she’s actually dating Troy.
Community may not have been a commercial success for NBC or Yahoo — it was perpetually on the brink of cancellation — but the intrepid study group at the heart of the show certainly made a significant impact on the comedy’s incredibly loyal fanbase. Created by Dan Harmon currently of Rick and Morty fame , the show set out to highlight the worth of people that others in society have deemed worthless. In doing so, it appealed to a vast swath of fans who hadn’t really been spoken to in a sitcom before the premiere.
Even if the show was a bit inconsistent at times, die-hard fans knew what Community meant to them right out of the gate and were willing to stick with it wherever it went. Episodes run the gamut of funny, shocking, dramatic, and downright strange, making them pretty difficult to compare, let alone rank. But there’s a lot of time to kill before Harmon can accommodate fans’ rallying cry of ” six seasons and a movie ,” so you might as well bone up on Community ‘s 25 best episodes.
Season 6, Episode 3 As rival community college City College is poised to launch an attack ad on Greendale revealing that the school once gave a diploma to a dog which may or may not be true , the Greendale gang must rally in the middle of the night to find a way to get ahead of the negative press. Though the show had lost much of the original cast by Season 6 the most recent season, which aired on Yahoo , the hodgepodge of old and new characters really finds a way to shine in this episode.
Oh no, there’s been an error
An analysis of which season of the two odder Community seasons felt a bit more off. I just saw that the sixth season of Community , which was produced by and exclusively aired on Yahoo, is now going to join the rest of the seasons on Hulu. That should bring more eyeballs to it, since it was fairly tricky to watch before.
So I thought this would be a good time to do this list.
Maybe it has just been forever since I last watched community, but I’ve been really confused the last couple weeks as to when Troy and Britta .
When the legitimacy of his college degree is challenged, lawyer Jeff Winger must return to school where he finds himself leading a misfit coalition of fellow community college students. Jeff tries to use a Spanish class assignment to get close to Britta, whereas Pierce has something altogether different in mind. Jeff struggles to get a good grade by convincing an eccentric professor of his sincerity. Britta’s offer to bankroll his film class exposes a rift between Abed and his angry father.
As Annie recruits Abed and Troy for a psychology class experiment, Jeff and Shirley bond over their mutual fondness for gossip. Pierce volunteers to compose a new school song, and a cheating episode in Spanish class leaves Jeff defending Britta before a disciplinary tribunal. Annie’s dream of being the ex-football star’s girlfriend is in jeopardy when Jeff is blackmailed into getting Troy to join Greendale’s football team.
Jeff sets his sights on an attractive professor with a firm policy against dating students.
